Sweet Closing Time (8 X 10) SOLD

My night hawk daughter took the reference photo that I used for this. The subject is the late night clean up crew at the Fenocchio Glacier in Vieux Nice near where we stayed. I may make some color adjustments, but so far, I like it.

This painting won first place in the November 2011 Wimberley Valley Art League juried show and sold at the opening reception.

Early Dinner (11 X 14 on wood panel)

Americans in Europe often find themselves out of sync with the local dining schedules. The waiters at this charming cafe hadn't even completed setting up before tourists started straggling in.

First Place

"Waiting at the Night Cafe" got First Place at the Wimberley Valley Art League juried show which opened last night. While I was painting it I kept trying to remember where I'd taken the reference photo and kept thinking it must have been somewhere in southern France. But at the show someone asked me where it was and I suddenly recognized the setting: Whole Foods in downtown Austin!

"Swans' Focus" got an honorable mention.

Rendezvous at the Indian Restaurant (SOLD)

I think this composition adjustment works better.

The Glamour of a Red Hat

16 X 20 X 1.5" oil on wood panel. My daughter Laurel found a wonderful red hat in St. Paul de Vence. It was instant glamour on a beautiful young woman.
