Completed Acrylic of Willow
I started this acrylic a couple of years ago and only finished Willow's face, neck, hand and hair. The rest was left as a sketch. Willow always wanted me to finish it, so I finally did, in time for her birthday this year. It felt strange working with acrylics again and running into the same limitations that had always frustrated me in the past. The experience made me very glad that I'm not allergic to oils!

acrylic is annoying because it dries significantly darker. It's like gouache, you always have to be working wet into wet, or understand how much lighter you need to remix colors... I use a "masterson stay wet palette" when I use acrylics
ReplyDeleteHi Concha, I don't really know what you said because the online translators don't give a good translation. But whatever you said, welcome to my blog!
ReplyDeleteHi Alex,
ReplyDeleteI've stopped using acrylics for precisely those reasons. They're especially frustrating when doing portraits because subtle color variances make a big difference to a face. My acrylics will probably only be used for experimental projects in the future.
Connie,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry not to have translated the text of the commentary, but my translator works like yours...
I hope that you could understand this commentary.
I follow your blog and I like very much your works. I do not paint but I like the art.
Regards
Concha
Muchas gracias, Concha!
